Recently, I’ve learned a few key things in life:

1. happiness is not something that you can buy, create, steal, touch, or force. happiness is a whole, but in a internal way. happiness does not come with the number of shoes you have or the number of followers you have on your social accounts. happiness is a inside holy thing that comes from God’s love. happiness is warmth and laughter that you get from being wise and understanding. happiness is pure and full of life.

2. one cannot be loved without loving, and one cannot love without being loved. essentially, we are all loved at an extraordinary point by the one and only Lord. ever since we were thought of he has loved us, more then your friends and family could ever compete with, but a human cannot love without being loved. it’s not ones nature. you cannot beat a dog and then expect the dog to go fetch you your morning newspaper. you have to love the dog. and on the contrary a person cannot simply be loved by others without loving them first. love is universal and eternal. love is everlasting and gracious. God will always be our never ending love. He will always love us  no matter what the relevance.

3. sadness comes from the soul and not the eyes. you can see your mother crying, you can witness a car crash, and you can stand over top of your grandmothers grave and look down on her. but ones eyes does not do the depression, it’s the soul. your soul is the part that aches, even if your eyes are the hands-on contact, your soul is the touch and your eyes are the open door.

I don’t want to leave you with those last words of sadness, so if not i would love to give you some hope.

Our world is cruel and sinful. our world is unforgiving, lustful, terrifying, and disturbing, but that will never change meaning that we have to cling to the small perfection that we have, being God. He is our shining tower of gold in the midst of a black landscape. He is the rock and safe house we need to cling to enabling us to survive. He is the warmth and shine that you feel in a summer breeze. He is the millions of twinkling stars in the sky whispering down on you with their light airy voices. He is the good conquering the evil. He is all we have.

Now do I expect that to change your life and make you want to get rid of your filth and sin and slam your unclean mind with a bible? No! of course not! I am only a hypocrite for i suffer with the same struggles. But I do want you to dwell on this:

Think about how many millions of years the Universe has been around for, think about all the families and lives that have already lived. You are just another life that is only around for about 1/10th of eternity. What i’m trying to say is that in God’s point of view we only live for about half a second, because our lives are so short. So I don’t know about you but in my opinion I want my half a second to be living for him and all for him. This world is nothing, He is everything. So make your half a second count, make him proud.
